Spring is officially coming!  Our star goat Doris, already a young mother, is now waiting for the birth of her new baby goat!  Daisy is going to have a sibling, or maybe more, living with her and her mum very soon!

Baby Goat 1

It normally takes a mother goat 150 days of pregnancy before delivery and interestingly, they don’t really need help with their delivery.  They assist themselves like many other animals and the delivery will happen when it’s quiet around the farm.  Shh…  We’ll wait for the magical moment!

Baby Goat 2

For now, come and see how vibrant Doris is, even when she is pregnant!  It is so sweet to see that pregnancy doesn’t affect her a bit.  She runs, she jumps, alongside with her lovely daughter Daisy on a sunny spring morning.  What a scene!

Fun facts about goats:

  1. Baby goats (kids) can stand and take their first steps within minutes of being born.
  2. Goats can be taught their name and to come when called. Remember that our mum goat is called Doris and her daughter is Daisy.
  3. Goats are herd animals and will become depressed if kept without any goat companions. So, Doris and Daisy are keeping each other happy.
