Introducing Meadows Fest: A family-friendly celebration of summer!
Introducing Meadows Fest: A family-friendly celebration of summer!
As we say goodbye to spring and hello to the return of warmer days and lighter nights, we are welcoming the summer season with a brand new event, Meadows Fest, which takes place on July 8th.
With more hours of daylight, we’ve packed the day full of sun-drenched activities that will keep everyone entertained. We will be hosting wildlife/pollinator trails, where you can spot the many different types of butterflies and bees that visit our beautiful wildflowers. July is the height of our meadow season, so it’s the perfect time to see our wildflowers in full bloom and they will also be dressing the Turret House courtesy of local floristry ladies!
There will be a chance to have a go on our maypole and learn the traditional dance to welcome the start of summer, as well as Morris dancers performing throughout the day. Our bee keeper will also be bringing along her observation beehive: you will have the chance to try on a beekeeping suit and see what the bees get up to inside the hive. We hope you’re ready to try a waggle dance!
For children there will be crafts, face painting, a bouncy castle, donkey rides, and some of our other animals will also be making an appearance. You can pet our guinea pigs, rabbits and pygmy goats.
To wind down at the end of the day, we will have a live music concert in the Tudor ruins courtesy of the silver spectrum wind band (4pm) who play classical, jazz, swing, film and contemporary pieces.
If this summery celebration sounds right up your street, bring the family along to Sheffield Manor Lodge of July 8th from 11am. Tickets are £4 for adults, £2 for children, £12 for a family ticket (two adults and up to three children), and season ticket holders receive discounted entry.
We hope to see you there!
Please note due to staffing changes we are no longer able to offer Pictorial Meadows Tours.
