Discover…. Tudor history brought to life (there’s a sandpit and games too!)
Once a fine Tudor Manor, the Turret House and grounds at Sheffield Manor Lodge are now a great place for families and those with an interest in heritage to explore. The house was the home of George Talbot, 6th Earl of Shrewsbury and his wife Bess of Hardwick. Mary, Queen of Scots was held as a prisoner here in the 1570s and 1580s.
Explore the walls, take a tour and meet costumed characters. There are also our giant sandpit, lavender labyrinth, crafts and outdoor wooden games – the perfect place for families and children to play. Just make sure you don’t get stuck in the stocks at closing time.
