Job Title: Visitor Development Officer

Contract type:             Permanent

Salary:                           £22,000 pa

Hours of work:           37.5 hours, exclusive of lunch breaks.  Regular weekend evening working is required.  Hours for this post between April and September will be Sunday to Thursday inclusively.

Location of work:        The post will be based at Green Estate, Manor Lane, Sheffield. Attendance at other offices/sites may also be required on occasion

Job Description

Very much a hands-on role, our Visitor Development Officer will take an energetic and pro-active lead in supporting others to deliver a wide range of visitor activity on site.  Responsible for delivery of a portfolio of existing visitor offers including schools’ sessions, school holiday craft activities and key public events.  With a passion for, and understanding of, the importance of the local, cultural and environmental heritage, you will ensure the rich and varied stories of Sheffield Manor Lodge come to life for our visitors.  You will lead on the continuous improvement of existing offers, and the development of new offers for our key audiences across Sheffield Manor Lodge ensuring all visitor experiences are the best they can be, and can contribute to plans to increase visitor numbers and spend.

Skills required

  • Experience of and confidence in running large events
  • Experience of working with volunteers and managing volunteer teams
  • Experience of delivering of educational activities for school age children

Job Description

  • To maximise income potential from weddings and venue hire at Manor Oak House and the Discovery Centre.
  • To take the lead in delivery and continuous development of our DIY weddings offer, and venue hire opportunities.
  • To ensure all weddings, venue hire, and events are managed efficiently and with maximum customer satisfaction.

Job Title: Admin Assistant Vacancy

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: Minimum wage for age

Hours of work: 37.5 hrs per week – Mon to Friday

Location of work: Green Estate offices

Must hold a UK full driving license

Job Description

To undertake a wide range of admin duties to support Business Services department. To assist in presenting a professional image to Green Estate customers.

Main duties are:

  • Providing administrative support to Senior Management and their team
  • Office duties including but not limited to:- maintenance and monitoring of records, ordering and receiving goods, filing; inputting; receiving deliveries; fielding telephone enquiries, cash handling, basic level spreadsheet use etc.
  • Escorting contractors and visitors around site to relevant people / places
  • Inputting and maintaining accurate financial and customer data
  • Effective and welcoming first-contact duties
  • Setting up for meetings and presentations including basic IT support as required
  • Providing excellent customer care
  • Assisting in posting website and social media updates
  • Supporting varied marketing and PR activities

Skills required

  • Numerate and literate.
  • Good skills with Microsoft office, especially word and excel
  • Reliable and an excellent timekeeper
  • A high level of integrity, honesty, trustworthiness and ability to keep information confidential
  • Friendly, polite and facilitative.
  • Clear, consistent, systematic and methodical approach to working life.
  • People-focused with the ability to facilitate other staff to achieve their workloads.
  • A sense of urgency in all tasks
