Landscape Operative

At the heart of The Green Estate is the design, development and delivery of engaging, adaptive and resilient parks and green spaces in urban settings. We understand that access to well-designed and good quality green space is good for people and for nature and a vital part of tackling the climate and ecological crisis we are facing.

We are seeking a skilled Landscape Operative to join our esteemed Parks Department, recognized with the prestigious Green Flag award for excellence in its management of Manor Fields Park. As a Landscape Operative, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our parks and green areas remain vibrant and welcoming for all to enjoy.

Customer Success Assistant

Salary: £23,100.00 per annum

The Green Estate Community Interest Company has a mission to grow engaging, adaptive and resilient urban places in Sheffield, the UK and beyond. We are looking for someone to join our newly created Customer Success Team, which will support the customer journey from that first point of contact, to building relationships and converting leads into new business.

You will work with fantastic brands which sit within The Green Estate. Such as Pictorial Meadows seed and turf, which won the Pro Landscape Sustainability & Biodiversity award last year and Sheffield Manor Lodge which provides the opportunity for truly magical weddings and celebrations, as you can see from their Instagram.

Not only will you be able to take pride in the high-quality products you are promoting, you will know that all the sales are invested back into the company and our community. Whether this is through preservation of Manor’s heritage by ensuring the Turret House, where Mary Queen of Scot’s was interred, is preserved and accessible for the people of Sheffield, or through our Growing Communities team which offers opportunities to access and learn horticulture and food growing skills.

Gardener – Manor Oaks Park

(Variable hour contract, fixed term from 1st May 2024 until 30th November 2024)

Salary: £11.45 per hour

The Green Estate CIC is a social enterprise which aims to grow engaging, adaptive and resilient urban places. It is a community and ecosystem of landscape designers, meadow makers, park and heritage stewards, green recyclers, venue organisers, volunteers and more who all care about social and environmental sustainability.

This role involves working as part of the Urban Green Places team to maintain the venue garden as part of Manor Oaks Park. Through care and skilful maintenance you will be creating a living environment that can make a wedding couple’s ceremony an extra special day or provide a serene scene for reflection at a celebration of life.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience of maintaining formal gardens, understand Health and Safety principles and proper tool use and be able to work outdoors independently or as part of a team as required.

Wedding and Venue Support

(Fixed Term until 31st December 2024)

Salary: £2,975.70 based on FTE of £22,317.75 (please note: this salary is based on 1st May start date, actual salary dependent on start date and how much overtime you take on)

Working hours: The working hours for this post are Saturdays, 7.5 hours per day between 8am and 6pm.  There will be opportunities for overtime and time off in lieu (TOIL) systems are in place

Are you a hardworking and energetic individual with a passion for people, great customer service and all things event based?

As part of our friendly hospitality team, you will be key in supporting the delivery of events, weddings and venue hire, helping to ensure all our customers have a fantastic experience with us. You will be a key part of delivering across all our audiences, whether fun and exciting weddings, professional corporate events or celebrations of life. 

With a love of working with people, an eye for detail and confident manner you’ll be a crucial member of our events team.

In turn we can offer you a friendly and supportive working environment within a unique and diverse organisation. We are a growing business with a professional and focused team who are highly supportive of ongoing training and development. This role is based at our Sheffield site. You will receive a uniform allowance, nationally recognised First Aid training and for evening shifts we will pay for a taxi home.
