Landscape Horticultural Meadows Technician

As a customer facing Landscape Meadows Technician you will form part of the meadow products and services team and be responsible for the establishment, maintenance, and delivery of high-quality meadows across the UK and occasionally into Europe. You will provide specialist knowledge and expertise along with excellent customer service to ensure our customers are able to achieve meadows that are right for them.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the practical delivery, establishment, and maintenance of meadow planting contracts

2. Responsible for dealing with customer enquiries and recording data on the Customer Service Management system

3. Responsible for customer site visits to carry out survey work, provide advice on meadow establishment and maintenance

4. Responsible for preparing customer reports on meadow design, establishment, timescales, maintenance and cost

5. Assist in setting an agreed work programme, ensuring that all work is prioritised according to need

6. Assist with R&D work relating to meadows

7. Responsible for the use of machinery and equipment including the upkeep in a good and safe working order, stored safely and securely

8. Responsible for performance management of staff as required

Operations

9. To operate machinery and equipment as required particularly tractors and mounted equipment (following certification and induction)

10. Driving vehicles and towing trailers across the UK including loading and unloading

11. Report writing using Microsoft office software

12. Provide regular Health and Safety check sheets and COSHH reports, log issues using computer software and phone apps

13. Carry out plant establishment and maintenance tasks including use of pesticides

18. Work effectively with good clear communication to the meadow services team, the Landscape Managers, Business Services Office and other internal staff and customers to ensure that all works can be delivered safely, to schedule, on time and to a high quality

Customer Service & Working Relationships

19. To attend and contribute to all team meetings and feed information into meetings

20. Maintain positive internal and external relationships with all colleagues, customers and the general public

21. Support colleagues in other sections of the company through good communication, understanding of the differing roles that they play and through mutual promotion of their services.

22. Contribute actively to the success of the Commercial Green Business Section and the whole Company through active participation in continuous improvement, with provision of specialist advice where needed.

23. Undertake any other duties, as requested by your Line Manager, commensurate with the level of responsibility of the job and the aims of Green Estate CIC

Weddings & Venue Hire Officer Vacancy

Post Overview
To drive our wedding and venue hire business forward, maximising customer satisfaction and income potential and achieving financial targets. To lead on the delivery and continuous improvement of our wedding and venue hire offer. To run a tight ship on all business area administration, finances and team management and report regularly on conversions and resulting business decisions and changes to products and services.

Main Responsibilities

Business Development
• Proactively evaluate wedding and venue hire business development opportunities
• Lead on agreed product and service developments
• Keep up to date with industry changes and trends
• Review and implement continuous improvements to wedding and venue hire policy, practices and procedures

Customer Service
• Set and maintain exceptional standards of customer service by everyone in the team to achieve excellent feedback and reviews from each and every event
• Lead on the continuous development and improvement of our customer journeys and ensure they complement our customer profiles
• Develop a close working relationship with key partners, including the Rhubarb Shed Café, and colleagues in support of our wedding and venue hire offer

Delivery
• Lead on the delivery of all venue hire and weddings at Sheffield Manor Lodge
• Manage the venues maintaining the standard of presentation required, troubleshoot and address issues in close liaison with colleagues to ensure the site and venues are at their best for each event
• Organise the cleaning of the venue, set up before each event and turnaround between each event, including ensuring access for suppliers

Line Management
• Line manage the Assistant Visitor Services Officer and all bar staff
• Recruit, train, manage and record hours for hospitality and bar staff as required to provide effective cover for all venue hire and weddings
• Manage arrangements for an emergency contact on each wedding/event day

Organisation, Administration & Financial Management
• Lead on forecasting, budgeting and financial management to ensure targets are met and/or exceeded for weddings and venue hire
• Update management accounts, identify variants and report any issues each month
• Maintain and continually improve robust administrative, financial and management practices and procedures
• Present monthly reports, lead monthly Wedding & Venue Hire team meetings, set agendas and deal with and chase all follow-up action
• Manage bar till income and bar stock ensuring secure practices and procedures are in place and followed at all times for cash handling, banking, checks, deliveries and stock taking

Marketing & Sales
• Lead on setting and securing conversions from enquiry to booking
• Support the Assistant Visitor Manager to maintain all public information and marketing materials so they remain up to date and relevant
• Manage and respond to day-to-day wedding and venue hire enquiries in a professional, timely and confident manner
• Manage viewings, show-rounds and pre-wedding meeting with couples
• Attend wedding fairs and other key events as necessary to secure sales
• Network with suppliers on cross promotional opportunities including photoshoots
• Creating content for social media

Legal Responsibilities
• Act as the appointed responsible person for wedding ceremonies at, and the designated premises supervisor for the bar in Manor Oaks House
• Ensure that all work is undertaken in accordance with company policies and procedures and develop risk assessments for all aspects of the venues’ business
• Manage the Health and Safety of our venues, our staff, customers and events liaising with Business Services over concerns, works and supplies required
