They are all individual and different showing, we hope, that Manor Lodge can help you plan your wedding, your way.

Sheffield Manor Lodge Real Weddings: Ingrid and Robbie

Ingrid and Robbie got married just a few weeks ago at Manor Lodge. Their celebration was one of love and happiness, bringing together their families from France and England in our beautiful historic setting. Throughout the day special touches from their home countries made the day totally individual and even introduced their guests to something a bit different.

The ceremony took place outside the Turret House in front of 90 guests.  Ingrid, wearing a beautiful ivory gown, was walked down the aisle by her Dad, to the Skyrim theme song. Her wedding ring had been passed along through Ingrid’s family and her flowers were a stunning mix of red, white and blue. Once the ceremony was over the happy couple were treated to a mass of bubble blowing by their guests, making their photos extra special.

The apothecary garden is a popular setting for wedding photos but, instead of handing out traditional champagne, Ingrid and Robbie’s guests were treated to a glass of mead from Brittany as they chatted to friends and family in the garden.

The happy couple chose to have their reception on site at Manor Lodge in an marquee in the grounds of the Tudor ruins. It was time to celebrate all things Yorkshire and what could be more appropriate than tucking into a tasty pie? From beef and blue cheese, to roasted squash and chestnut mushroom there was great variety and this Yorkshire classic was a new experience for several of the guests. Their delicious meal was followed by a stunning chocolate and vanilla sponge tree of life wedding cake.

Of course there’s nothing like a bit of dancing at a wedding, and Ingrid and Robbie had found a vintage DJ to play songs from England and France and get everyone up on the dance floor. When the guests were hot and tired another British staple pulled up in the grounds in the form of an ice cream van!.

We asked Ingrid what she thought of the support they received from us at Manor Lodge in the run up to the wedding and she had nothing but positive things to say about our wedding coordinator so it seems they feel they received the personal touch by choosing us as their venue:

“Since the first meeting we had until the end, he was here for us. He is a big part of the success of our wedding. He gave us the ideas that made everything perfect and an event in our image”

But why did they choose us for their special day in the first place?

“As a historian it was important for me to get married in a place that possesses a history. I was delighted to find a venue as powerful and beautiful as Manor Lodge. Also, it was really good to think that the money we gave will serve to preserve this wonderful place. It is a really satisfying feeling.”

We are so pleased to have been able to help Ingrid and Robbie with their Yorkshire wedding and totally understand them wanting to do it all over again a week later in France!
