11am - 4pm Every Sunday, April to September Monday to Thursday, School Holidays
Meet historical characters, go on a guided tour, dress up, see a Tudor banquet, have a go at sculpting fruit sweets, read the stories in the discovery centre.
Run wild in the open spaces, guess the scents in the herb garden, explore the nooks and crannies of the ruins and get lost in the lavender labyrinth.
The giant sandpit is often the first stop for little ones and there’s lots of outdoor games too. Don’t forget about the adventure playground.
We will be running seasonal kids activities on Sundays and school holidays. From nature trails to crafts, keep an eye on our events pages for details.

Covid 19 Announcement
In accordance with the most recent government advice, and to protect our staff, volunteers and visitors, we are postponing the 2020 opening of our Tudor site indefinitely. This includes our school holiday craft activities and Easter Egg Hunt. We are also cancelling our April First Monday Lecture. A refund will be issued to all those that have bought tickets to our events.
We are very sad to have had to make this decision but we have taken the following into consideration: • The UK government has issued advice for people to work from home and avoid social contact • Emergency services cannot provide support for mass gatherings • Many of our volunteers are in the at-risk group and we want to ensure their safety • With the likelihood of reduced staff numbers, we will not be able to support our activities safely.
It is with heavy hearts that we have to let our visitors know that Mr Barnes’ farm and the 1940s cottages are closing and the animals moved to new homes. This has been a hard and difficult decision and one which we are incredibly sad to have to make. Countless businesses are being affected by the coronavirus epidemic and for our farm, no visitors over our doorstep means we are not able to look after animals in the way they need.
The Rhubarb Shed Cafe is also closed but are running a fruit and veg delivery service within S2. You can find details on their facebook page.
We look forward to seeing everyone soon. Please keep an eye on our website and social media for updates.
