A few things we ask

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed in the Tudor grounds except on our Doggy Days. Once a month we welcome four legged friends to explore our site. We do ask that dogs are kept on a short lead in the Tudor grounds and all mess is cleaned up into the bin provided. Please see our what’s on page for details of our next Doggy Day.

Please note the Rhubarb Shed Cafe does not allow dogs inside but are welcome at outside tables.

We have lots of outdoor space surrounding the Tudor site that is very popular with local dog walkers. Dogs can be off the lead in this space.

Smoking

The Tudor grounds are a no smoking area. We kindly ask you to smoke outside of this area by exiting through the Discovery Centre.  We ask that you dispose of any cigarette ends in the bins provided once back on site.

The Ruins

The ruins are over 450 years old and we want them to be there for many more years to come. We also don’t want any one to hurt themselves. We ask that you do not climb on the ruins but please feel free to touch!

Mind your step
The ground can be uneven across the site due to buried archaeology so please mind your step. The grounds are grassed beyond the Discovery Centre. Access to the first and second floors of the Turret House are via a stone spiral staircase.
